Matt Pyke at the Liverpool Design Symposium

Matt Pyke, founder of Universal Everything and former member of The Designers Republic gave an inspiring lecture yesterday at
the Liverpool Design Symposium. I liked the way he thinks, finding design inspiration in everyday life as well as the furthest reaches of science and technology. His inclination to look outside of graphic design and it's inherently urban outlook is no doubt responsible for bringing us the beautifully organic and procedural works that reflect his love of being close to nature.

The studio's work gives a very good lesson about teamwork and what can be achieved through collaborations, regardless of physical distances.

He is currently working on Advanced Beauty, a DVD collection of 18 minimal video sound sculptures that you shouldn't miss.
