Raindrops

Every time a child says "I don't believe in fairies, warned Peter Pan , "there is a little fairy somewhere that drops down dead . By her paintings Margaret Tarrant did as much to stop this happenings as J M Barrie did by his writings.

This is what is written in the end of my beautiful illustrated book...

Margaret Tarrant born on 1888 in London was a talented painter that have illustrated many classic stories, along with some fairytale series that i just started reading. I travel into those stories before i sleep and they make my dreams sweet and fairy...Every little picture is an inspiring lovely piece.

"...The crowfoot loves the sunshine but rain does not appeal. The raindrops' pitter-patter it does not like to feel. So when the rain is starting , the anxious fairies cry: come quickly undearneath, my dears, and from the rain keep dry! They pull the crowfoot under, and hide it from the rain. Beneath the pond they hold it till sunshine comes again. And then they lift it gently, it spread its petals out, and all the little fairies come and dance around about..."

Goodbye La Princess...

Yesterday the Liverpool's Princess finally escaped dramatically forever. The giant spider (Fifty feet high, 37 tonnes) was wandering around to the streets of Liverpool for a while, making everybody feel amazed! The music accompanying her and the wet cloudy weather were making the scenery so real and atmospheric... Quite an addictive show, as many people -thrilled by the sight of it, even though it was cold and extremely busy, were following her around for hours! I've never seen so many people before in the streets of Liverpool. A marvelous creation brought by the French company "La machine" which will stay forever in the minds of the people who had the luck to experience a bit of the magical story!

Lomography at Skyros

It's been a long time since my last post... I've been lazy, enjoying the Greek sun and the summer... so my first post after a while will have a hot breeze about it!

These are some of the first experiments that we did with my friend Zoto's "new" but "old school" Holga camera while we were on holidays.

Not thinking of compositions and ways to take the perfect picture, clicking wherever and however the scene is and waiting for unexpected results is the key!

We had some fun and I can reassure you that it's a totally addictive hobby, if you bare in mind that my friend received one more even better model of Holga this morning....and I'm preparing to do an investment soon too!

My little kid, Arthur...!

It took me two days to bring my little Arthur to life. He was originaly made to star in some animations for my website "Save our oceans". Unfortunately I didn't have the time in the end to use him . He still is my beloved first handmade toy though. His body is made from wire so that he can move his head and parts. He has fluff from a pillow for filling, various fabrics for his turtle skin and buttons for his nice eyes.

On the pictures you can see some of my work process and finally his latest excursion on the park.

Screen Printing

On Friday me and some other super geeks decided to attend an old school screen printing workshop and learn some basic stencil design techniques. These are the goodies we manage to make after two hours sketching, cutting and printing our designs into fabric...The rest is the lab we were working in that i found very interesting...

Art in the streets of Berlin

Such a creative city...Art and music are all over Berlin! You can discover hidden creatures on the walls ready to pop out and start walking and teasing the people around on the streets. Grunge walls and grafiti wherever you turn your head, no need to go far there to find some inspiration...

This are some pictures taken while visiting Berlin for the latest Pictoplasma Animation conference on 2007 and a second visit on Easter. Once you 've been once, there is no way you won't want to go back!

Design Show Liverpool 2008

Here are some pictures from the Design Show that started yesterday at an old warehouse in Liverpool. Catwalks, arts and crafts, furniture, jewllery and many more were exhibited.
